FC Barcelona are officially the best club side in the world after beating South American champions Santos 4-0 in the final of the Club World Cup at the Yokohama Stadium in Japan.
The European champions cantered to victory thanks to goals from Lionel Messi (2), Xavi and Cesc Fabregas.

Club World Cup fixtures announced-The tournament kicks off on December 8 and lasts until December 18
Everyone is expecting to see a final between Santos and FC Barcelona whom paired with the winner of the quarter-final between Al Sadd and Esperance during Thursday’s draw for the 2011 Club World Cup in Japan.The other semi-final will be played between Brazilian giants Santos, either Auckland City or the winner of the J.League.
FCBarcelona’s semi-final will take place on December 15 in Yokohama.

Xavi Hernandez .. FCBarcelona and National Team midfielder, Became the second player in history to run 500 games with the Catalans, after his team beat Atlante 3-1 on Wednesday in the semi-finals of World Cup football in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Xavi (29 years) Became the second player to win the honor, following defender Miguel (548 games) between 1973 and 1989, after 11 years with European champions Spain and the present.
Xavi joined to the Academy of Barcelona in 1991 aged 11 years and started his career with the first team in 1998 against Real Mallorca in the Super Cup competition.
After 11 years, Xavi balanced 333 league games (second in order for the club’s players), 100 games in the Champions League (first place in the history of the club), scoring 49 goals with Barcelona.
Since its beginnings under the supervision of Dutch coach Louis van Gaal, Xavi won the confidence of all the trainers who train Twalua Barcelona, and played an influential role in midfield.

Iniesta ruled out for two weeks
Andrés Iniesta will miss the final of the FIFA World Club Cup after it was revealed that his muscle injury would keep him out of action for at least two weeks.
FC Barcelona’s medical team released a statement in Abu Dhabi that read: “The tests carried out this afternoon confirm that the player has suffered a muscle tear in his left leg.”
The midfielder suffered the blow in the game against Atlante in midweek and had to be substituted for Bojan Krkic. At the end of the game it was felt that he may have a chance of recovering in time to appear in the final, but that has now been ruled out.
Best player.. Despite being unable to play in the game against Estudiantes, Iniesta will be able to attend the FIFA World Player of the Year gala in Zurich, Switzerland on Monday. He is one of the five nominations for the award.

Barcelona are through to the World Club Championship final to face Estudiantes after coming from a goal down to defeat Mexican champions Atlante 3-1 in Abu Dhabi.
Guillermo Rojas had given Los Potros de Hierro a stunning lead after just four minutes, but the Spanish side eventually found their rhythm and goals from Sergio Busquets, Lionel Messi and Pedro handed Pep Guardiola’s squad a deserved place in the showpiece event on Saturday.
Atlante took advantage of the European champions sluggish start to take the lead in almost the fifth through Guillermo Rojas. But Sergio Busquets equalized in the 35th.
Pedro scores in 6th competition
Pedro Rodriguez has become the first player to score in six different competitions in one year, netting a goal Wednesday in Barcelona’s Club World Cup semifinal match against Atlante.
Pedro received a pass from Andres Iniesta inside the area in the 67th minute and beat goalkeeper Federico Vila to give Barcelona a 3-1 lead.
The 22-year-old winger has scored goals the Spanish league, Copa del Rey, Champions League, Spanish Supercup and European Supercup.
Messi returns to lead Barcelona over Atlante
Lionel Messi returned from injury and scored a goal, helping Barcelona beat Mexican club Atlante 3-1 and earn a spot in the final.
Messi showed no effects from an ankle injury as he received a pass from Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the 54th minute and then rounded goalkeeper Federico Vilar.
Pedro Rodriguez sealed it in the 67th, becoming the first player to score in six different competitions in one year.
Barcelona played out the final ten minutes as only they can, maintaining possession and although both Pedro and substitute Bojan should have extended the lead it mattered little – the European giants had successfully negotiated a tricky tie to qualify for the World Club Championship final.

FIFA Clubs World Cup
Mexican side Atlante qualified for the semi-finals of the Clubs World Cup after beating Auckland City 3-0. The Mexicans will now face Barça in one of the semi-finals to be played next Wednesday.
In the other semi-final, Estudiantes, who passed directly to the semis like Barça, will face Pohang Steelers FC after the South Korean side’s victory over the Congolese team TP Mazembe.
