Barcelona signs Keirrison from Palmeiras
FC Barcelona has agreed a deal with Brazilian club Palmeiras to bring star striker Keirrison da Souza Carneiro to the Club. Barça will pay 14 million euros plus a variable of up to 2 million extra depending on the number of matches played.
The 20-year-old striker has signed for the next five years but will spend next season out on loan.
Keirrison, whose full name is Keirrison da Souza Carneiro, scored 26 goals in the past two seasons in the Brazilian league.
“I’m happy to be part of Barca and I know I am at the right level to play for them,” he said in an interview with Sport.
“I think it will be good to go on loan to learn more about European football. I do not see any problems with this. I know that the club are only doing this to prepare me. I accept that just fine and I will be ready when that time comes.”
